I formerly worked at Garden City Ammonia Program as the Director of Compliance services where I taught PSM/RMP implementation as well as performed PHA’s, Compliance Audits and cooperative PSM/RMP builds. I was the Lead Author and Project Manager for the Book “Implementing Process Safety Management for Ammonia Refrigeration”. I am currently the Risk, Safety & Process Improvement manager at RC&E. This site is used for posting the information, strategies, observations and ideas I develop while creating, maintaining and implementing superior Ammonia Refrigeration PSM/RM programs. I consider myself something of an evangelist when it comes to using these programs as a basis for process standardization and continuous improvement.
My experience with ISO & SQF systems as well as Lean/Six Sigma/Kaizen methodology is applied to continuously improve existing PSM/RM Programs. I can vastly improve your existing programs or write a comprehensive PSM/RM Program from the ground up. The programs are designed to engage the employees in charge of implementing them, instill a sense of ownership in them and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
My programs have been successfully audited by nationally recognized compliance contractors. Many of my students have gone on to successfully pass OSHA NEP inspections without citation or recommendation for improvement.
My programs are custom built for each facility, though each is designed to be:
- Fully Compliant to both the letter and the spirit of the regulations.
- Simply and Quickly audited by the facility AND regulatory officials.
- Easily understood, followed and improved by facility personnel.
I also manage the OSPSM project, an Open-Source resource for PSM and Safety Templates. If you want more information on that project, please contact me.
